Enhance Your Work with Professional Editing

Even the best writing needs editing to produce polished, impactful writing that resonates with readers. An editor offers an objective perspective, providing detailed feedback with only one goal in mind: to help you create the best possible piece of work. Professional editing not only enhances the readability and professionalism of writing, it also helps convey the intended message more effectively, identify inconsistencies and awkward phrasing, and offer suggestions on how to structure your work to logically impart the key message. Moreover, constructive feedback from an editor can empower writers to hone their skills, highlighting areas for improvement and fostering growth in their craft.

The Editing Process

  • Book & Submit

Contact me via email to discuss your project’s aims and your expectations for your work. I accept almost any form of writing, so don’t hesitate to ask if you think you could use some extra help! We will agree on a word count and time frame for completion ahead of the submission of your work to ensure expectations and deadlines are met.

  • Editing

I will read through your work and provide detailed feedback depending on the form, style and genre. This will include any tips I have for improvement, suggestions of ideas and areas that may need reworking. This service does not include proofreading of spelling, punctuation and grammar, but is instead focused on the concept, readability and accessibility of your work.

I have worked primarily on creative writing projects such as novels, short stories and poetry, however, I am also able to edit essays, articles and other forms of writing. I worked as Lead Editor on the 2024 ‘From Arthur’s Seat’ anthology, a collection of short stories and poetry written by a range of authors. This saw me provide detailed and insightful feedback to the writers I worked with to help them improve their work prior to the publication of the anthology. Furthermore, my experience as a student in both my undergraduate and master’s degrees saw me participate weekly in peer review workshops, wherein, it was necessary for me to read and provide feedback on others’ work. Altogether, I have now over four years’ experience in editing others’ work.
